The Post and Telecommunications Institute of Technology’s Master’s in Information Security has just been approved. The university is expected to implement master’s training in information security from 2026.
On December 25th, the Assessment Council, composed of seven members who are leading experts from research institutes, universities and enterprises, met and unanimously approved the Academy’s Master’s Program in Information Security.
PTIT’s master’s training program in information security will soon be promulgated and the university is expected to officially carry out master training of information security from 2026. According to a representative of the Department of Information Security – PTIT, this is good news for students who love and want to pursue academic careers in information security.
The training program is designed to train learners who have political and ethical qualities; have professional knowledge and skills, capacity for research and application of techniques and technologies commensurate with master’s level; have ability to study all their life; have creativity and adaptability to multidisciplinary working environment; have sense of professional responsibility, meet requirements of socio-economic development and international integration.
When the master’s program of information security of PTIT is officially promulgated, this will be the sixth discipline that the Academy organizes the recruitment and training at master level. The five disciplines which are being trained at the master’s level of the Academy are Telecommunications Engineering; Electronic Engineering; Information Systems; Computer Science; and Business Administration.
In the field of information security and cybersecurity training, PTIT is one of the training institutions that opened undergraduate information security courses early. To date, the school has been enrolling and training in information security at university level for 12 years, enrolling in 12 courses and having graduated from 8 courses. PTIT graduates of information security are working in agencies, organizations and enterprises, participating in the information security and cybersecurity community to protect the national digital space.
The Department of Information Security – PTIT aims to become a leading training, research and application center, not only to provide a solid knowledge base but also to help students and learners develop comprehensively, ready to integrate in the new era.

In 2025, PTIT’s undergraduate information security training program has made many improvements to catch up with technological trends and international standards in the field of cybersecurity and cybersecurity. The training program is divided into 3 disciplines: cybersecurity, cybersecurity and application, digital investigation with new modules. The training programs are aimed at training information security engineers who have deep knowledge, critical thinking, and strong practical skills and are ready to take up key positions in security, cybersecurity, digital investigations and blockchain technology in Vietnam and in the world.
In particular, the high-quality university training system for information security is developed by PTIT according to international standard program, focusing on training of specialized subjects in English. Students are equipped with comprehensive knowledge system on network security, operating system, applications, database, analysis of malicious code as well as artificial intelligence applications in the field of information security; at the same time, students are also experienced the practical situations through the laboratory system and projects cooperating with enterprises.
