Speaking directingly at the Conference, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh noted and appreciated the PTIT results achieved in 2025. PTIT has a proud 70 – year history and is gradually asserting its role as a major university in the ICT sector in Vietnam, the deputy minister stressed. Besides the outstanding achievements, the Deputy Minister pointed out six key contents that the Academy should pay attention to in the coming time.
Firstly, it is necessary to strongly shift strategic thinking from extensive to intensive development; from expanding the training scale to paying attention to training quality; and from expanding training scales to further raising training quality, which must be reflected in the criteria on the number of applied and transferred patents and technological products, and the values contributed by learners to the community.
Second, to build an ecosystem for technology development and scientific research in association with technology application, creating a favorable environment for the formation of new valuable products and services.
Thirdly, to make innovation and entrepreneurship a new growth motive of the Academy, based on the foundation of leading and pioneering in effectively exploiting, using and applying the promulgated mechanisms and policies. In today’s competitive landscape, it’s no longer a story of who’s better, but who is faster. The faster one wins, and the Academy must be the faster unit.
Fourthly, to bring international cooperation activities back to their nature, change from form to substance, adopt clear cooperation strategies, select strategic partners in line with the Academy’s development orientations.
Fifthly, to develop the contingent of cadres, giving priority to building the elite force. To train the elite, first there must be the elite. Therefore, the Academy should develop specific mechanisms to attract talents, facilitate them to contribute through new and challenging work, along with appropriate treatment policies.
Sixthly, focus on directing the development of the Academy’s facilities in the city. Ho Chi Minh became a strong research and training center of the southern region, contributing to the general development of the Academy.
