PTIT sent five students to Russia for a course on cybersecurity and AI.

The Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology – PTIT sends five outstanding Information Security students to a course on cybersecurity and AI at Moscow University of Communication Engineering and Informatics – MTUCI, Russian Federation.

Five students who are studying information security at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology – PTIT, have been appointed to the “Future Tech Winter School 2025” course at MTUCI University, Russian Federation: Dao Xuan Manh, Nguyen Dinh Hai, Chu Duc Anh, Nguyen Van Long, and Mai Xuan Nhat.

A representative of the Department of Information Security – PTIT said that the selection of students for short – term courses, from December 7 to December 14, at MTUCI school was carried out by the Faculty Council according to two main criteria, namely: Having good academic results, being a member of the information security team, taking the CTF with high achievement; having good ability to study and research, being participating in groups, research projects.

For Chuy Duc Anh, a third – year talent student of the PTIT Faculty of Information Security, who also excelled, was selected to attend “The 2nd ASEAN Cyber Shield Online Education Bootcamp” in Busan, South Korea, from November 18 to November 21.

The program is part of the ASEAN Cyber Shield project, funded by the South Korea – ASeAN Cooperation Fund, with the goal of strengthening cooperation and enhancing cybersecurity capacity among AAE countries. Joining the program, alongside training activities and workshops, the student Chuc Duc Anh also had the opportunity to connect with experts, lecturers and young talents from ASEAN countries.

In March 2025, two Academy student teams, PTIT.Lugia and PTlT.Uranus, achieved impressive achievements at the CTF cyber security and safety competition organized by MTUCI school. The competition brought together 14 teams of students from universities from Russia, China and Vietnam. After five hours of intense and dramatic “Attack – Defense”, PTIT.Lugia won the Second Prize, while PTlT.Uranus also placed in the top five.

Most recently, at preliminary round of the “Cybersecurity Student 2025” competition The PTIT has 4 teams of students to qualify for the Finals which will take place on November 15. Among them, PTIT.CBS and PTlT.0verflow were named in the Top 10 teams of the Preliminary Round.

The above-mentioned outstanding achievements of students studying information security at PTIT have continued to confirm the quality of training and capacity of international integration in the field of cyber security and IT of the Academy’s students.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Xuan Dau, Head of Department of Information Security of PTIT, the school started to implement information security training from 2013 and so far has enrolled 12 courses, including 8 courses graduated from students, contributing to adding the contingent of safety and cybersecurity experts for the sector and the country.

Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Xuan Dau, head of the Department of Information Security – PTIT introduces the school’s information security training program to incoming freshmen in 2025.

From the academic year 2025 – 2016, in addition to the standard training program, PTIT began to organize enrollment and training of high – quality information security program. This new program aims to equip students with future career skills in information security including professional, ethical and soft skills. During the course of study, students are allowed to experience and master advanced solutions and technologies in the information security sector. After graduation, students are able to adapt well to domestic and international work environments.

At present, as with other units under PTIT, students of the Information Security Department have access to a digital practice system, which enables them to practice anywhere and anytime and thereby gradually improve their professional skills. Besides, the Information Security Department has established extensive cooperation with leading enterprises in information security and IT to provide students with good learning and working opportunities.
