On February 27,2025, the Government promulgated Decision No. 452/QD-TTg on approval for planning for higher education and pedagogical institution network for the period of 2021-2030 with vision towards 2050. Accordingly, the Post and Telecommunications Technology Academy is one of five higher education institutions oriented to develop into a national key technical and technological higher education institution of regional quality and prestige.
The Post and Telecommunications Technology Academy and educational institutions such as Hanoi Polytechnic University, Transport University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Engineering Education and a number of regional universities will play the core role in training high-quality human resources and talents, research, development and innovation to serve high technology, strategic technology and national digital transformation. These are public schools with the highest capacity and prestige in training and researching a number of key and spearhead technological branches and domains.
With 09 training institutions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, nearly 30 undergraduate disciplines/training programs, 10 postgraduate training programs, 03 training research cooperation offices in Japan and Korea, the Academy has a scale of nearly 35,000 students of all classes.
The Post and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) is a public university leading in the supply of high-quality human resources in the digital era with many digital technology training programs such as Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, Artificial Intelligence, Semi-conductor Vi mạch, Information Security, Computer Science, Data Engineering, etc. The PTII is a pioneering university in opening interdisciplinary training disciplines for the first time in Vietnam such as Multimedia Technology, Financial Technology, Game Design and Development, Internet of Things technology, Multimedia Communication.

The Post and Telecommunications Technology Academy will be one of seven universities training national key information security human resources from 2013; and one of five universities in the Union of educational institutions and semi-conductor microchip training institutions from 2 (X) 23. As the only Vietnamese education unit to receive the 2024 ASOCIO prestigious information technology award in the Digital Education category, SCImago voted it the No. 1 in the innovation criteria in the ranking of scientific research institutions in Vietnam. In the field of computer science, the Academy is also the only higher education institution in Vietnam to be ranked in the Asia CS rankings.

In conjunction with the Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, the Government’s selection of the key technical and technological school under the Decision No. 452/QD-TTg on approval for planning for network of higher education institutions and pedagogical institutions for the period of 2021-2030 with a vision towards 2050 will serve as an important basis for the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology to bring into play its internal resources and anticipate technological trends to reach its targets in the new
