On December 15, 2025, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 – 2037 Master’s Program in Computer Science taught in English (VMCS). This is the event that marked the launch of the second course of this prestigious scholarship program, following the success of the first course which just graduated in July 2025.
The ceremony was attended by Doan Thanh Tam, deputy head of the Personnel and Political Department of Viettel International Investment Corporation, and a representative of Viettel Global. On the Academy’s side, Associate Professor.TS. Tran Quang Anh – Deputy Director of the Academy, and heads of departments and functional divisions.
The Master of Computer Science (VMCS) fellowship program is a strategic initiative to improve the quality of ICT human resources for countries having cooperative relations with Vietnam. The program was implemented under the sponsorship of the Academy and Viettel Group, with the emphasis on an entirely English-language training process that closely combines academic, practical, and cultural exchanges.
The VMCS 2025 – 2017 course welcomes 15 students, including 6 international students from Tanzania, Burundi, Mozambique and 9 outstanding Vietnamese students who received a 100% scholarship from the Academy. This diverse student body holds the promise of creating a multicultural academic environment that helps train students in global thinking.
Speaking directingly at the ceremony, Academy leaders emphasized the key role of VMCS in the strategy of internationalization of postgraduate training. At the same time, it is expected that the students will not only well fulfill their research tasks but also become an important bridge to promote ICT cooperation between Vietnam and the international community. The student representative Efraim Pardon Mwakalobo also expressed his determination to make academic efforts to contribute to the future development of science and technology.
